We want to inform you of an important upcoming change that may impact your Snowflake connections within Varicent ELT. Snowflake has announced that they are deprecating single-factor password authentication by November 2025.

To ensure your Varicent ELT pipes continue to run without interruption, ensure that your existing Snowflake credentials use OAuth authentication instead of basic authentication. You can update your existing connections by going to Data > Import data > Snowflake to update your authentication method. Edit all existing Snowflake connections to ensure the authentication method is set to OAuth, and not basic. Any new connections must use OAuth authentication in November 2025, so we recommend that with any new connections you use OAuth from the start.

We will be removing the use of single-factor password authentication from Varicent ELT by the end of October 2025. Until then, you can still continue to authenticate with single-factor password authentication, however, once the method deprecates, you will no longer be able to access your Snowflake connection.
